To ring in the 2011 New Year, the annual International Miami Boat Show is premiering February seventeenth through the twenty first. Owners, brokers, and manufacturers have already begun transporting boats on location and preparations are well underway.  For those of you attending, here are great some tips to simplify your day for a stress free and fun experience.

The International Miami boat show will be displayed in three locations: the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Center, and Strictly Sail Miami at Miamarina at Bayside. Since parking is always one of the biggest hassles, shuttle bus services and water taxis are available this year which not only eliminates the stress of finding a parking space but also gives you a chance to experiences some of the beauty of Miami. Check out their website for more info on where you can find water taxis and shuttles (www.miamiboatshow.com/showinfo.aspx).  Also, keep in mind that the traffic and the crowds become more chaotic as the day progresses, especially toward the evening; so if you want to avoid some of the madness and just enjoy the beauty, be sure to get there early and don’t forget your sun block.

Boat transportation companies are already brining in a great variety of beautiful vessels.  Boat exhibitors will range from Carver Yachts and Meridian for power boats, to Hobie Cat and Marlow for sailboats.  Among the endless array of boat displays and motor parts, the Miami Boat Show also includes exhibitors for marina equipment, fishing accessories, and travel & resort companies. Never sailed before but you would love to try it? Experienced sailors will also be available to give you a sneak peek into life on a sail boat. Ever heard of Russell Newberry? He is a crab fisher famous for being featured in the hit television series Deadliest Catch and he will be at the Miami boat show signing autographs and answering questions for fans.

Looking for some activities for the whole family? A thirty minute ski boat adventure is available but you must sign up and it is done on a first come, first serve, basis.  Anyone over the age of ten will have the opportunity to learn to scuba dive in the scuba pool with innovative equipment. There is also a big game room where you can relax with the family and have a drink while you wait for your next exhibit of choice to begin.  Even Sponge Bob Square Pants will be making an appearance on February 19th for all his young die-hard fans.

The famed restaurants and cafés on Miami Beach and Bayside will complete the package with excellent varied cuisine and a wonderful South Florida mélange flair. Check out these websites of local dining and attractions so you can plan ahead: www.lincolnroadrestaurants.com for Miami Beach and  www.baysidemarketplace.com for Bayside.

With the endless list of events, exhibits, and spectacles, the 2011 Miami International Boat Show is expected to be the best one yet!  Plan ahead and enjoy.
